How to become a Non-Executive Director - Interactive Remote Access Course

The How to become a Non-Executive Director course helps you to plan and prepare for your first NED position. It instils a real sense of what is expected of NEDs, and how you can meet the challenge. This one-day interactive course is aimed at aspiring NEDs and covers essential knowledge about roles, responsibilities, strategy and corporate governance that are key foundations for a Non-Executive board role. It also considers up to date thinking on corporate governance and the responsibilities of owners, the board and employees. This is followed by practical sessions on identifying NED opportunities, the process of obtaining a first appointment and performing due diligence before any position is accepted. There is emphasis on the importance of presenting your experiences with clarity and relevance. This course identifies the various ways and circumstances in which non-executive directors can make an effective contribution to a board’s work. It also examines methods for their selection and reviews their motivation, induction and reward.

Please note, whichever option you select, the booking is not complete until payment has been received. Once payment has been received you will be sent your course joining instructions and a VAT invoice as confirmation.

Course Cancellation Policy

Places on courses are limited and we therefore operate a cancellation policy regarding refunds and transfers. Once you have received confirmation of your place on the course you will be liable for the whole fee unless we receive written notification of cancellation more than three weeks before the event date.

Written notification of cancellation can be sent via email to debbie.wright@excellencia.co.uk or by post to Excellencia Ltd, The Coach House, Clarbeston Road, Pembrokeshire SA63 4QL. For bookings cancelled more than three weeks before the event, delegates will be able to change the date of their booking free-of-charge, or 100% of the fees that have been paid will be refunded. For bookings cancelled three weeks or less before the event, no refund will be made other than in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the course leader.

Please note that for bookings made three weeks or less before the event, the course fee will be non-refundable, other than in exceptional circumstances at the discretion of the course leader. In the event of a cancellation made three weeks or less before an event, applicants will be able to book on a further course for an additional fee. This fee is non-refundable should the delegate then choose to cancel this booking. No refund will be made for non-attendance on the course.

In the event of cancellation of a course by Excellencia, we will endeavour to inform all participants at least two weeks before the course is due to take place, although please be aware that this is not always possible. In such an event, all course fees paid will be reimbursed in full, but we are unable to reimburse any other costs that may be incurred, such as flights or accommodation.

In the event that dates have to be changed by Excellencia, delegates may request a full refund if the new dates are not convenient.
